ReplyDeletePrint Rich Environment means displaying the portrait of thing that student can see and know better what it means and what it is. for example if we put up a sign of STOP (in traffic symbol) children will know what that sign means when they come across. So children will be able to lean quickly by seeing pictures.

Print-rich learning environment is helpful to students to help them in interactive learning, draw their attention and help learning and memorizing things better. It's create a sense of interest among students when we have print rich classroom. And to create print rich environment we ought to involve our students and give them different activities and hung those activities, drawings or writings in classroom to create more fascination and curiosity among students.

For example in the lower grades it was very easy to learn through the laid out formats of alphabets and words, such is a print rich environment. It just needs the creative touch of the teacher to take the initiative and also make it entertaining for the students.

Posters making using drawings or pictures from old magazines and newspapers. We can write our own message or slogan or encourage students to write one using rhymes, songs and riddles in different languages.
Encourage them to make and display different kinds of alphabet charts.
Collect newspapers and magazines, information pamphlets, old greeting cards. These can be cut up and used by the children when they make their own cards, pictures etc. Using students’ work to create a print rich environment allows students to explore and interact with print in an authentic and purposeful way.
By print rich environment we can mean that a room or place where students can achieve the facilities of printed or written learning materials like flash cards,wall posters,charts,etc. With these materials they can happily and easily catch the ideas of what they require to learn. And also it helps them to keep in their mind for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThis environment can be made easily by teachers along with their students using unused materials available at home and school. For example, we can use thick covers of old exercise books, old calendars,etc.
Print rich environment can come from a creative way to design and put up grafitti in the walls of the classroom and teachers need to take initiative for this because children learn better from a visual point of view than the reading to them approach.

It is an environment with lots of written materials appreciate for children. These materials can be posters, story books, magazines, name labels on objects or things etc
