Print Rich Environment means displaying the portrait of thing that student can see and know better what it means and what it is. for example if we put up a sign of STOP (in traffic symbol) children will know what that sign means when they come across. So children will be able to lean quickly by seeing pictures.

    Charts, poster, blocks, boards, musical things, cards, written stories with pictures, paint on walls with different types of animals, fruits, vegs, etc.in the classroom.

  86. A print-rich environment is one in which children interact with many forms of print and it helps foster skills needed for reading. It includes alphabets, flash cards, word cards, hand made made books, word walls, bulletin boards showing students work etc. Students learn best through hands-on, meaningful play experiences within this prepared environment.

    Some ideas for how to make a print-rich environment:
    Posters making using drawings or pictures from old magazines and newspapers. We can write our own message or slogan or encourage students to write one using rhymes, songs and riddles in different languages.
    Encourage them to make and display different kinds of alphabet charts.
    Collect newspapers and magazines, information pamphlets, old greeting cards. These can be cut up and used by the children when they make their own cards, pictures etc. Using students’ work to create a print rich environment allows students to explore and interact with print in an authentic and purposeful way.

By print rich environment we can mean that a room or place where students can achieve the facilities of printed or written learning materials like flash cards,wall posters,charts,etc. With these materials they can happily and easily catch the ideas of what they require to learn. And also it helps them to keep in their mind for a long time.
    This environment can be made easily by teachers along with their students using unused materials available at home and school. For example, we can use thick covers of old exercise books, old calendars,etc.
